The reason Oslo shows up here is because of Norwegian Airlines.  That was easily the best flight I found towards SE Asia. I think I paid something like £180 for a one way ticket from Oslo to Bangkok. Getting to Oslo is a different story all together, but mainly due to my ignorance. I made the mistake to fly to Torp Airport. Some airlines (incl. Ryanair) claim it’s in Oslo. It’s not in f*ckin’ Oslo. It’s miles away and the bus ride to Oslo was the worst of my life. The bus was overbooked and I gave my seat to an older lady. So the journey was a pain, I sat on the stairs by the central door. Inside of course, still. Horrendous and certainly not legal. I should have complained but I wanted to get to the city faster so I just swallowed it. Ah well. Certainly something I would have expected to happen on a  South East Asian boat journey from a random island to an even more random island –  by no means in Norway.

Otherwise, Oslo is just beautiful. If only beer was cheaper. I don’t think I’ve had a pint for under £10 in Oslo which says quite a lot.

Being there at the end of May, it also meant that the days were endlessly long. The sun set around 11 I think and was rising again around 3 so I managed to get A LOT covered. Also, I had arrived there just in time to see the first big football game of the summer: the Champions League final. Unfortunately, Atletico lost.  In any case – for now the pictures will have to do.
